中国各少数民族的朋友们，学生们，家长们，我们是离开中国到海外生活的中国朝鲜族人，我们在中国的时候与你们一样，我们都是在中国的少数民族。

在中国，我们与你们一样，我们在中国遭受到中共政府通过基础教育制度中的有关规定强迫我们从小学到高中，一天只有大约一小时的汉语课程，其他所有课程都使用我们少数民族的语言和文字，强迫我们不能自由选择进入使用汉语教学的学校。

中共政府的这套针对我们少数民族的基础教育制度中的有关规定，导致我们世世代代在中国社会缺乏社会竞争能力，我们出生在中国，我们生长在中国，我们在中国谋生，但我们在中国社会由于缺乏汉语的语言文字能力，我们世世代代、永永远远，在语言上象“外国新移民”。

我们中国朝鲜族人近年在中国吉林省延边地区针对中共政府的这套规定开始了我们的抗争，目前情况开始略微有了改善，在有的学校，汉语课的老师已经不再是朝鲜族人而变成了讲地道汉语的汉族人，有的学校把一天只有一堂汉语课变成了一天两堂汉语课。然而，这些小小的改变并没有从本质上改变我们的现状，我们的孩子依然没有选择进入汉语学校的自由。

我们并非反对使用少数民族语言文字教学的学校继续存在，我们要求中共政府在使用少数民族语言文字教学的学校充分提供汉语教育，这关系到我们少数民族的后代在中国社会能否得到公平的生存机会和公平的社会竞争地位。我们同时也要求中共政府取消在少数民族地区少数民族的子女只能就读少数民族语言学校的规定，我们要求中共政府充分尊重每一个少数民族家庭的选择，给我们少数民族的后代自由选择进入汉语学校的自由。

我们呼吁，中国少数民族团结起来共同低抗中共压迫性的少数民族基础教育制度，我们是中国的少数民族，我们不要在中国生活得象“外国新移民”，我们必须为我们的子孙后代在中国得到公平的生存机会和公平的社会竞争地位而争取我们接受充分的基础教育的权力。

Dear friends, students, parents of the China ethnic minorities, we are China ethnic Koreans who left China and live overseas. We were China ethnic minorities, just like you, when we were in China.

 

In China, we were just like you, we were forced to the CCP government basic education system that made us to have only about one hour Chinese lesson a day, from elementary school to senior high, and all the rest of the lessons were of ethnic minority’s language and text. We were forced to have no freedom of choice to enter the schools using the Chinese language.

 

The rules of the basic education system that put on our ethnic minorities make us social  incompetent in the China society for generations to generations. We were born in China. We were living in China. We were to survive in China. But since we were incompetent in the oral language and characters in the China society, we were like “foreign new immigrations” for generations and generations, forever and ever.

 

We the people of ethnic Koreans stated our fight against the CCP government’s system in Yanbian, Jilin. Things have turned a little bit improved. In some schools, the teachers of the Chinese lessons have been no longer ethnic Koreans but native Chinese speaking ethnic Hans. In some schools, there are two class of Chinese lessons each day. However, these little bits of change do not change the nature of our situation. Our children are still having no freedom to choose to enter Chinese schools.

 

We do no oppose the existence of the schools that using ethnic minorities’ language and text in the teaching. We demand the CCP government to provide sufficient Chinese language education in ethnic minorities’ schools. This is a matter that concerns our coming generations to gain fair opportunities, fair competitive abilities and fair positions in the China society. At the same time, we also demand the CCP government to eliminate the rules that ethnic minorities’ children only allowed to go to ethnic minorities’ language schools. We demand the CCP government to respect each ethnic minority family’s choice to choose for their children to go to Chinese language schools freely.

 

We appeal to you, that the China ethnic minorities get united to fight against the CCP’s oppressive basic education system together. We are china ethnic minorities. We do not want to live like “foreign new immigrants” in China. We must gain for our younger generations the rights to receive sufficient basic education in order for them to have fair opportunities, fair competitive abilities and fair social positions in the China society.
